About Vicki
Bio
Vicki Lind, M.S. has worked as a career counselor and marketing coach since 1999. Having lived here most of her life, her roots are deep in Portland's communities. She is especially helpful to creative people because she herself is a creative divergent thinker (and a little bit quirky). Vicki imaginatively pulls together resources to meet the idiosyncratic needs of each client. Her own creative venues include painting, crafts, and gardening.
Vicki’s career counseling draws on her long professional history in education and mental health. She is a kindred spirit to people who care about helping individuals, the community, and the environment. In 2006, she began presenting workshops on Green Careers for The Natural Step Network, the International Association of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP) and Green Drinks.
Her education includes Master's degrees in Education (Portland State University) and in Counseling Psychology (University of Oregon). She also holds a certificate in Human Resource Management (Linfield College). Finally, she passed a comprehensive exam required to become a National Certified Counselor (NCC).

Why Vicki?
On nearly every page of my website you’ll see the faces of my former clients who are now employed or enjoying their own solo businesses. I’ve included so many for three reasons:
- It makes me happy to see the contented faces of people who came to me carrying the stresses of being unhappily employed or unemployed. Some were struggling to make ends meet with a solo business. Many also arrived at my door with financial worries and/or a depleted sense of confidence that accompanies under- or unemployment.
- So you can be motivated by the successes of real people like you here in Portland. These photos put faces on the reality that you can use your creativity, make a difference and make a living in Portland.
- These professionals may become a networking resource for you. One of my important strengths as a career counselor is my ability to introduce people who can help each other. (note: if your current employer doesn’t know that you are looking, confidentiality may be the best option for you).
